WHAT WE DO FOR YOU!

Mother.Lab is a research and practice-based studio responding to the realities of change, belonging and caregiving in South Africa, where care is largely privatised, feminised and unevenly held.
One of those responses is helping Domestic Employers register their employees for UIF. It's a step to show care for those who care about us and our loved ones and our homes.

This is about more than compliance. It's about care for those who do the care work.

The most valuable employees are the ones working right inside our homes, around our family, and with our children. We should want to do what is right by them.

Part of that means registering for UIF so they are covered and protected if something goes wrong with their employment.

UIF registration is a legal requirement. South African law requires that employers of domestic workers register their workers for the Unemployment Insurance Fund if they work for more than 24 hours a month.

Don't let administration be the reason you don't do what's right
